As long as people pay the price they will keep the rates high. Each market will only support so much per night. Several years ago when the RV boom was at its height campgrounds raised their rates and a significant number went bust. It appears to have leveled somewhat but I still see campgrounds at $99 per night. I don't stay there but they seem to fill a certain niche. I guess we're the riff-raff they want to keep out.
