I've never worked anywhere that doesn't use some systems that are technically outdated. Those systems might be a pain for those of us that have to maintain them, but they get the job done. From a business perspective, system upgrades cost money and it only makes sense to do if there is a critical issue (security, for instance) with the old system or if the upgraded system will result in increased profit (through lower costs or higher customer usage) above the costs of the upgrade itself. Often times from a business perspective "good enough" is good enough.
