- rocmocExplorerTHE BEST is the Wolf Sanctuary South of Gallup. What a memory listening & watching the wolfs. Worth the 10+ miles off I40.
rocmoc n AZ/Mexico - I've stayed at Quaking Aspen campground, Cibola NF, several times. Fairly quiet. No water.
Directions:
Take Fort Wingate Exit 33 from I-40 and drive south through Fort Wingate, continuing 6 miles further on SR 400 to the campground entrance on the west side of the road. - Executive45Explorer IIIRed Rock State Park...full hookups @ $20/night. 6 miles east of Gallup. You won't find a nicer park...It's in Churchrock, NM....Dennis

Thanks very much for that tip. I'm researching going to the balloon festival in Gallup next month. I'm facebook friends with the people who run that sanctuary and didn't realize it was that close. So I'll definitely check that out!! Unfortunately I'm flying out & won't have my RV... :-(
