Seeing the burnt out structures and scorched land first hand really impacts you. The trees are still there mind you, it was all the leaves and underbrush that really burned which lit up the structures, 2500 of them gone.
We rode over on Friday morning when it opened up, Chalet Village was almost all gone. Yes it was very disturbing seeing all of that devastation and knowing what the guest and residents up there went through getting down off the side of that mountain.
