Weather permitting, there are some really nice hikes to waterfalls. You can get a book with the locations of them and the difficulty of the hike.

Went to Gattlinburg / Pigeon Forge one time and one time was enough for us. I'll never go back, in fact we drove right by 3 years ago on the slab. Over priced, lots of plastic and plastic people too.

Cades cove in the smokies. It’s probably about about one hour away. As mentioned there are a lot of hiking trails to choose from.

Biltmore in Asheville, well worth it.

The thing I remember about the Biltmore is that they had electric lights in 1895!

We enjoy the Cades Cove car ride or horseback whichever you prefer. Also in Chestnut Hill the Bush Bean Factory is really a cool place to spend some time at. The restaurant there is good as well.

If you are in Dandridge and in the mood for prime rib, a Taste of Dandridge is just off I-40. The locals recommended it to us and we had a nice reasonably priced meal.

All of these are within your time frame of 1.5 hrs.

well since I live in Sevierville. Some of the shows are great.you can go to Cherokee on the other side(casino if that's your game) Jonesborough TN is a great little trip. Ashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga are great stops all in your time. well have a great time and enjoy our beautiful backyard.

The Big South Fork (KY) is like the Smokies in reverse AND theres rarely anyone there. Beautiful place.

Knoxville Expo Center has a decent flea market a weekend or 2 a month. they have a website you can check dates.

Knoxville Zoo isn't bad for a small town zoo.



Personally, I avoid that tourist trap of pigeon forge/gatlinburg like the plague. And if you don't like going 5mph all day with frequent stops, don't do Cades Cove. Get out and take some of the small trails in the Smokies, especially on the 'other side'. I am a local if you want to bounce anything off me via PM.
