Getting to Two Medicine

We are on our way home from Alaska and presently near Glacier. One of our favorite campgrounds is Two Medicine in Glacier NP. Has anyone taken a high profile fifth wheel or MH under the overpass into East Glacier? Ours is 13'4", the overpass shows a 13' clearance. We drove over just to see the CG again and see if there would be anyway to get in there. The very young ranger said that if you drove in the middle under the overpass you could make it through. We did see one MH, about 34 to 36 ft. long, it did look like it had a fairly high profile. Would have loved to have talked to the folks, but no one was home. Would love to hear about any of your experiences.

Thanks,
Susan

  • Thanks, Slippery, appreciate the info. The ranger told us she had seen 18 wheelers come through, but there is nothing like personal experience. As she said, the middle is taller, so we we're thinking that the 13' is the side measurement, as that is the lowest point of the structure.
  • I took my 40 footer to that campground. No problem. Just go slow and have someone watch. It is our fav also.

Are you willing to risk backing up how far or damaging your RV? This seems pretty cut and tried to me, but maybe I am missing something.
  • Just put the petal to the metal, that way you may not get stuck and you really don't need that air conditioner anymore. Just could not resist. Seriously, stand on your ladder and watch, just make sure you have a good radio so when you say stop, the driver will stop.
