Artillery Ridge is reasonable. And they include some local attractions in their price. It is right next to the Battlefields and fairly close to downtown Gettysburg. We stayed there a few weeks ago. You do get some traffic in the campground as they do have horse stables on site. You will see horse trailers coming and going.
We stayed for a few days this past June at Gettysburg Campgrounds, and thought that it was really nice. Escort to the site after dark, level decent sites. Great store and rec center, small pool but adequate. Ned and his crew are always cleaning up something! Close to the town, and Hertz car rental brought us a car right to the campsite!
Was at Gettysburg Campground last weekend, it is beautiful. Nice sites, beautiful creek circles the back of the property, nice bathrooms, good staff. We really enjoyed our stay there and plan to make it a yearly trip.
If you like state parks,I would suggest Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Electric hookups, new bath houses,2 lakes for swimming, halfway point on the Appalachian Trail.
