Glacier / Yellowstone / Tetons 2019 - where to book first?

Hi all,
Feeling a little behind vs. the last time we booked a large trip. A year ahead I had a basic idea of where we'd go so I could reserve the hot spots (e.g. GC, Zion).
We are planning a month next summer where we're thinking about 5 nights each in Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Tetons (traveling from SC). July timeframe, and my first thought is that Yellowstone is where I need to book the most advance notice. So that would be approximately mid-July 2019.

So first question is how soon do I need to reserve? I see that Fishing Bridge is closed next year, but there are other campgrounds which are already available to reserve. My first thought is to choose two spots to split our visit. (Dry camping OK).

Am I wrong to think that I can wait a bit longer for Glacier and Grand Tetons area?

Thanks!

Explore each of the park's web sites which gives a lot of good information on things to do, road information and campgrounds.

With our 40' motorhome and never having reservations in any of those parks at various times of the seasons we have stayed at Apgar in Glacier, Mammoth, Bridge Bay and Madison in Yellowstone and we love Gros Ventre in the Tetons.

    ^^^^^I Agree ^^^^^

Sorry but things change - the RV has Wheels - Pick the Time - Enjoy the trip - Sorry I'm just not able to enjoy any trip with reservations that are Linked together.

In My life it just never works,

    JMHO,
  • Thanks everyone for all the replies!

I reserved Madison and Grant in YNP for 6 nights total in July 2019. Still working out our Glacier plan, and from what I'm reading that Tetons may be fine for FCFS campsites.

Anyway appreciate the responses, will keep coming back to this thread. We're actually in the middle of our 2018 summer trip so don't want to get distracted. But at least I know I have my Yellowstone spots :)
  • This is exciting! We did this in 2015. Would enjoy answering questions when we get a chance to talk.
