- Water-BugExplorerUnfortunately accurate records haven't been kept for a long enough period of time to predict long term trends. Yes the glaciers are melting but that has been happening for millions of years.Nobody contests the fact that the Great Lakes were formed by melting glaciers.

Global Cooling ?:@
If Global defined, equates to something spherical, then I'm confused.:?
I thought the earth was FLAT. :h
Is that why it's referred to as Climate Disruption now? They discovered I'm right afterall. Go figure:p - Water-BugExplorer

Dutch & Ski6P you will like weatherbell.com as his long range forecasts have been real close to actual. Unfortunately he is calling for this winter to be muck the same as last... just colder... even down into south Fla.:(
Looks like CA will be the place to be.
Unless you're thirsty. The drought is weather related too.
EDIT You're correct, last winter was muck. :) - the_bear_IIExplorer58° at 5am this morning in Southern California...expected to get to 72°by the afternoon. Sunny with light clouds.
Couldn't ask for better weather. - AprilWhineExplorer
- Tom_NExplorerThe "global warming" is in the areas of the world that are normally cold, such as the poles. Thus, melting ice raising the sea levels.
While the poles are warming the temperate zones are cooling. Thus the polar vortex we hear often mentioned.
Bottom line is major weather changes for our planet, mostly caused by man. - mabynackExplorer IISupposed to get down into the 30s here in North Florida tonight.
I'm no scientist, so my view on global warming is this - two world renowned meteorologists say that there's no proof of manmade global warming, it's good enough for me. John Coleman, co-founder of the weather channel and William Gray, the scientist that the US has used to do hurricane predictions since the 80s say it ain't so - it's good enough for me. - AprilWhineExplorer

John Coleman is not a scientist. For more info, click Snopes: John Coleman "refutes" global warming. - BarbaraOKExplorer

Well I do have degrees in science (chemistry and chemical engineering). Coleman had a degree in journalism. Gray has credibility in hurricanes, but the anti-warming portions of his grant applications are not getting funded - which means his peers disagree. There is a wide range of opinions on how much man is affecting the climate. To say we don't affect it at all is ludicrous. And burning fossil fuels for heat and to move cars is stupid - those need to be saved as feedstock for industry.
Barb - Jayco254ExplorerI wonder who or what the dinosaurs blamed global warming on.
