Others may have more up to date knowledge, but we've stayed at Theme world at the intersection of route 27 and I-4. There is also a KOA there called Fort Summit as I recall. Around Tampa, we've enjoyed Happy Days in Sefner (a bit pricey with a two-week limit), Tampa East at Exit 14 off I-4, and Southern Aire in Thonotosassa. Happy Traveler on Fowler Ave. is just a few miles from Hillsborough State Park - both good choices. But! Avoid Camp Nebraska on US 41 (Nebrasks Ave.) near Tampa. IMO that area is like what you want to avoid in Miami.
