Haven't been to Goosenecks in years, since then it's become a pay place. We use to just drive in and park anywhere, is it still like that? If I remember, if you went to the right there were some space...

I'm not sure the Goosenecks area is worth more than a couple of nights, but it sure is a great place if you want to feel like an insignificant dot in a huge landscape (and who doesn't enjoy that feeling??). That's my trailer on the edge of the cliff on a cold and windy afternoon in late October of 2010 -- we were camped way out on the peninsula, maybe half a mile from the campground -- that is Monument Valley in the far distance. To get this shot, I had to climb up a big hill to the north of the river, but it was worth the effort:
