As you can imagine my 40' RV does not fit in every site.
So I squeezed into a less desirable site while a larger more accommodating site was left vacant by the group.
That is the same reason we avoid those reservation systems. But we hear about it from time to time when a smaller rig is in a larger spot.
Not perfect. Works for some, not our preference.
When we travel with others, we prefer the closest and best site we can get, too.
Is it really worth making a stink over it? A lot of families have been going to the same places for years.
Up to you ;)
What motivate me to make a stink is that 2 sites were still vacant in the morning.
How can a 1st come 1st serve site be vacant in the morning?
The playing field needs to be the same for everyone.
Because you are in a group you can claim /reserve a site without occupying it.
Had those 2 vacant sites been occupied I would have let it go. But I was denied use of a site by people who never showed up.
I show first yet am still served last
There needs to be a better way. The group should not take precedence over individual campers.
The group should not be able to have unoccupied sites in a first come first serve CG. There should at least be a limitation of 2 sites per person or some method to force the group to occupy their camp sites.
The current system gives preference to groups over individual campers.
