We were there about 4 years ago and enjoyed it. However be aware the air temp is at 55 F ALL THE TIME, so wear a jacket and closed shoes.
No, its not as fabulous as Carlsbad. We visited both of these, plus Meteor Crater, Grand Canyon south rim, Petrified Forest and Painted Desert.
I called it the Tour of the Big Holes in the Ground.
