Grand Canyon Railway

Are there ever discounts, coupons, promo codes, for the train? Man, it's pretty expensive!
  • Automobile Club Offers some packages that are reasonable. We went on a 3 night 4 day trip which included hotels, train, some meals and sightseeing tour. I felt it was well worth the price. Currently the package runs $402 per person.

I never realized Xanterra ran the Grand Canyon Railway. Interesting.

  • Yes, very expensive. The drive to the South Rim from Williams is only about one hour, easy straight road, with plenty of parking at the park. Therefore, on our many trips to the Grand Canyon, we have never taken the GC Railway.
But while your in the area to spend the money for a few hours or most of the day at Bearazona. Great open animal park.
  • It's not only expensive but it's not worth it if you're there to visit the Grand Canyon. It's a boring train ride through scrub land and then you're only at the Canyon for about 3 hours before having to return.

For the best Grand Canyon experience stay IN the park itself at Trailer Village if you want full hookups or Mather campground if you don't. You'll be right on the Rim and the free shuttle can take you for various stops all day long.
  • It's the only game in town, so they charge what ever they want and people pay OR go home!
    Good Luck & Drive Safe!
