Stayed home on Memorial Day. thought about going to the Star Party at the grand canyon,Campground is full so will camp at my favorite space on FR 302 East of Tusayan

Is free dispersed camping allowed in that area? I'm from Tucson but have never camped in the Kaibab National Forest. How's that area off of FR 302?
