Hopefully you will like it, the cg is older and most of the sites are fairly tight, sites were level, parking is gravel and some are grass, but you are right on the lake, you can walk up town to shop and eat. There might be some road noise as the cg is pretty close to Hwy 61. It's been several years since I stayed there, I enjoyed the cg and I'm sure they have made improvements. It is owned by the city and there is an indoor pool/community center at the cg. It's excellent base for visiting the Gunflint trail, watch out for moose. Superior Hiking trail ends in Grand Marais. Fall color is starting, so it should be beautiful in the next couple of weeks.
