My experience camping is limited (so far), to the western states and I have never been in a CG (including the BLM desert near Quartzite), that permitted dropping grey water on the ground. I can't even remember being in one where it was not specifically prohibited in the CG rules. Maybe it is allowed where some of you camp but that still does not mean it is a good idea and yes grey water tends to stink. We dump our tanks at the CG dump station or at a truck stop at the end or as needed during every trip. The tanks get a good rinse and are put away with just a couple of gallons of fresh to slosh around.
It just seems like some here are in the "here's how we get away with it" mindset which is troubling. Then there are those that think their, ah "stuff" does not stink and that rules are for other people and ironically I think that that stinks. :R
As always.... Opinions and YMMV.
