Nor have I, but we rarely camp in CG's and I mean rarely. Of the 80+ nights over the last 2 seasons (and starting this year) I bet we don't have 12 nights in a campground. Out of all of our camping since our first TT in 2008 I doubt there are 30 nights in a CG.
It's possible that CG vs non-CG is where a lot of confusion and difference of opinion comes into play.
