Groves RV Resort Ft Myers

We have a reservation for the first week of August; having never been south of Destin to camp, or Palmetto for business, we're not sure of what to expect. However, it looks really nice on their site, and has good reviews, If anyone has experience this particular site, or any of the Sun Rv Resort properties, I would really like to hear what you have to say.

I'll post our experience once we arrive.

  • Good to know for anyone with a larger rig; mine's 34', and should be worry free.

Sounds like a lot of bad luck; someone didn't realize what they were doing when they made the res, and you arrived late. Personally, I would have found a Walmart, layed up for the night, and come back when they opened, asking to make it right (which I'm sure they would).
  • We arrived near closing time. Have a larger motorhome. The site we were given was between two park models. Even after having cars moved from the street in front of the park models, I could not get into the sight. I would have to had move one of the park models across the road from it's site to be able to get into the site. When I went back to the office, it was closed. They knew the size of my coach and they still gave me a site the knew I probably could not get into. Streets are very narrow and many park models with RV sites intermixed. We were not happy campers. Sites are not very big.
  • Sorry, never stayed there. However I do know it is in a decent area of town, and minutes from the causeway to Sanibel Island.

While there go north and visit the Edison/Ford winter homes. A great look inside the lives of those two geniuses.

I am sure you are aware that the first week of August is one of the hottest time of the entire year.
