Gulf Coast

Can anyone recommend a federal campground on the gulf coast that has the senior passport discount this time of the year. It doesn't have to be on the water, just some place to get away from this damn cold weather for a couple of months. Doesn't matter, La., Ms., Al etc. I will go anywhere I can get a decent rate for a old guy on SS...thanks for any input..
  • Myron B. Hodge City Park in Sopchoppy, Fla. offers FHU at $15 a day, stay as long as you want. It's on the backside of BFE but it's in the South and probably won't be full up with snowbirds. http://www.sopchoppy.org/parksfacilities.html
Temps will dip below 28F two or three times a month but the cold won't stick around.
  • We have stayed at most of the parks other posters have mentioned and you can find my pictorial reviews of each by going to the website in the signature block and select the "Campground Reviews" menu option.

These are all great places to visit. Have a great trip.
