- woodworker414ExplorerHi blenhardt. Thanks for the reply. Liking what I am hearing. And the info about the sites that can be rented for no more that two weeks is great for my rv friends to come down for a visit.

Safe Travels. - woodworker414ExplorerHi 1970duster340. Are the alligators a problem? Is there things that I neeed to be aware of with these critter around? Do they like to campout under the rig?
I can't remember, are the pads paved with blacktop? If so should I have wooden pads under the leveling leg pads?
When a Snowbird needs LP, do you have to unhook and go to a LP dealer for a refill or does a dealer come to the campground? I have been to Gulf Shores a few times. I know there is a lot to do in the region. Does the park have any activities? If so, what kind?
Any other info that you think I could use, send it. If there are links, websites with info, let me know.
Thanks a lot. Rally looking forward to being there.

Safe Travels. - 1971duster340ExplorerStayed there many times, most recent was May. What are your questions?
- blenhardtExplorerWe have been there several times and it is one our favorite parks. Spent most of February there last winter. We really like the park. Great hiking and biking trails. The entrance to the park is only about 1/2 mile from the beach. We biked there several times. The sites are not close to each other. It is cooler than places further South but usually not real cold. During the winter it is full most of the time. They save some sites that can be rented for only two weeks at a time.
- Johno02ExplorerWe were there the last week of Feburary this year, and were either freezing or getting washed away by the rain and winds. Otherwise, its a great place!
- TripalotExplorerIf you enjoy bicycling there are lots of great trails in the area. Also lots of restaurants nearby although we don't dine out often. The town has some interesting shops; lots of kid type activities as well - just bring lots of money.
- pawattExplorerIf you are thinking of snowbirding there it is a bit cold in Jan & Feb.
- JCGibsonExplorerWe stayed there last summer and enjoyed our stay. We only saw one alligator and it was about 4 feet long if that. When you stay in the State Park, you get free access to the State Park Beach access at the Pavilion which is only about a mile away. The Pier is about 2 miles away from the park. At the State park they also have Zip lines, rent kayaks and canoes. They have a small nature center, huge swimming pool, laundry room and small store.
- woodworker414ExplorerThank you everyone for your quick replies

Safe Travels - Johno02ExplorerGreat place if you can get in. On state parks reservation, lots of folks reserve every weekend for two days, then cancel at the last minute. So chances of getting anything on a weekend, or including a weekend are slim. I don't think any of the State or Federal parks should take reservations more than two weeks in advance, and have at least half the sites open for walkins. The way they are doing it now, the government is losing an entire week camping fee for two nights that don't pay anything anyway.
