For those of us who don't actually live in AL, I really have to wonder exactly what role the state government has in this whole park situation. Yes, parks are supposed to generate revenue to sustain themselves. Here in TN the state doesn't charge an entry fee so all are free to use, residents and visitors alike. They do charge for camping though. The state has invested in improvements that make our state parks rival any private CG. Its a shame that a state would take funds from the park system to apply on something else, if that is truly the case in AL. I don't know.
