Check out Lu Lu's Bar & Grill along the inland waterway in Gulf Shores. It's a fun place with an outside area for kids to play in a really large "sandbox". They have seafood on the menu. Try their seafood gumbo. Lu Lu is Jimmy Buffett's sister. They sometimes have live music that is always good.

We were there during the oil spill a couple of years ago and went to LuLu's one night to eat and guess who showed up and put on a show? You got it.....Jimmy Buffett. It was great, but was mostly for locals, but we were already there.
Lucky you! We were at Lu Lu's in late March '14 and had an early dinner. Saw the workers doing some things out near the tiki bar so I asked them what was up. They told us that there was going to be about 6-7 bus loads of Parrotheads coming in the next day for food, drinks, and music. Well, we spend the next afternoon amongst all those fine feathered phriends listening to some great music. Unfortunately Jimmy didn't show up. We didn't see him at the Cheeseburger in Paradise in Key West either. Have seen him in concert 3 times though. - tnscoutrExplorerWe love Gulf State Park. As others have said, the camping fee also gets you in at the pavilion or the pier. When we visit we always make a visit to the Oyster House.
- magnusfideExplorer IIDouble ditto.

Gulf State Park is wonderful. FHU, great bath houses, pool, wifi in certain parts, laundry, everything you could want. Some sites are on the lake, but none of the campgrounds there are ON the ocean. At $35 or whatever it is, it's a bargain.
We have stayed at a few others, but the SP is the place for us.
You also have free access to the pier and the pavillion (right on the beach) that has good showers, snack bar, etc.
The campground has the largest sites we have seen in GS. Many of them feel just like parking lots even though they may be a few yards closer to the beach.
Gulf State Park
Luxury RV Park
Island Retreat
These maps will give you an comparison of the size of the sites. - 4huskersExplorerDesoto's Seafood Kitchen.

http://www.lulubuffett.com/ - OakmanExplorerAs others have said, Gulf State Park is the best for Gulf Shores. Luxury RV Park, Island Retreat RV Park, and Doc’s RV park are in a good location for visiting Gulf Shores.
Good seafood can be had at the Shrimp Basket and DeSoto’s Seafood Kitchen is a good choice too. Lambert’s is down home style of cooking and you owe it to yourself to visit “the home of the throw’d rolls.” Good food and plenty of it. Also visit Tacky Jacks bar and grill and order a Bushwacker, it’s like an adult chocolate shake (lots of rum). - reubenrayExplorerAnother vote for Gulf State Park. We will be there in about 3 weeks for a week. We go there at least once a year.
- HalmfamilyExplorerGulf State Park. Great location, great price and beautiful park.
