I am not a full timer, but about 3 years ago we started going to Florida (from Indiana) during the entire week of Christmas. Why? TO GET AWAY from family! Quite frankly, it get's pretty old hosting all the holiday events. Everyone is old enough now and have their own families. Let them start their own family traditions.
But, it back-fired this year! My son, who is now divorced, decided he and his 2 and 1/2 year old son are going with us to Florida this Christmas!
So you know what? We're all heading out, and the rest of the family is on their own! I wonder if next year, more family members will follow us South?
