In Lancaster county pennsylvania I was full timing in my 35' Fifth wheel for about 3 years like 4 years ago. Recently I was looking for a campground/RV park and I found out that the townships have put a stop to people who live full-time in their rv's. I found that to be a bit on the discrimination side. So I'm just looking for some input from full timers if they've run into the same problem. I'm willing to hear from anyone that can help me out. I'm not looking to file a discrimination suit or anything like that. I'm just looking for some replies that may help me. Thank you

I don't fulltime. In my opinion what you are experiencing is really no different than municipalities passing laws against overnighting at Wal-Mart or other business parking lots. It's private property but they can still regulate activities on the property.I don't think a discrimination lawsuit would work. WA has a rule that a recreational vehicle, trailers included, cannot stay in the same spot for more than 180 days if occupied.

If I were staying in the same location it sure would not be in my RV. I thought the definition of full timing was living in the RV but moving it from time to time to a new location.

What does state specify on length of stay?

Cities, counties, townships zone out certain uses all the time and have forever. No apartments, no businesses, not over 35 feet in height etc. If it is your township, advocate! If it isn’t your township, it is their decision.

In my experience, you need to look for the larger (more expensive) RV Resort type parks like you find in Arizona, Flordia and probably Texas.

An attempt to eliminate RVs that sit so long they can no longer be moved??

You really no recourse but to be willing to move regularly or find some where that still permits unlimited stays.

I tend to disagree. IMO, full-timing means full-time living in your RV, regardless of the location, and regardless of how often you move to a new location. Who's to say you should stay 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months, or 3 years in a location when defining full-timing? I could be wrong, but I don't think insurance companies base their rates for full-timers on how long they'll be in any given spot.

I am in a small town (680 population) in central Alabama. I have my home base site here on a double residential lot and have been here 10 years+ except when I'm hosting or traveling. Many small towns in rural areas don't have any zoning issues.
