I don't like it because its a monopoly and a racket.
Snip.
"With all due respect, if you do not like the terms of service as clearly stated on the web site, don't use them. If you think that any product/service is too expensive, don't buy it."
I knew the terms; we have had to use RA for years. In Florida, you have no choice if you want to stay in state parks. You can not reserve at the office. Many parks we like, you have to reserve months in advance so as it gets closer, things pop up; grand kids baseball games, funerals, etc.
We also stay at several county and private parks. NONE charge to cancel or change if you do it far enough in advance.
We owned a popular beach front motel for ten years. We kept the first night if you cancelled less than a week out. Cancel two weeks out?
NO CHARGE! And that is my point about the charge; if the site sat empty, go ahead and charge me. But if the site gets filled, why charge? Especially $17.75? Why not $10?
As far as the credit card, our card was compromised in the great Harbor Freight credit card hack of 2013. clicky
Card company called to inform us of suspicious charges appearing one day, had to cancel and get a new card. A week later we got a letter from HF.
Glad you all like them so much. And I HAVE written the state several times. They LOVE RA. And BTW, RA keeps ALL of the first night revenue and ALL cancellation fees.
