Headwater Campground @ Flagg Ranch Yellowstone
Their website is confusing to me, and no one answered the phone, so maybe someone can help me. Are pop-up campers & tents allowed?

I'd say getting a spot in Colter Bay or Gros Ventre campgrounds would be very doable, especially if you can get to the campground before 2pm, earlier, if possible. Stay close by the previous night. Each has 300 non-reservable sites. We've been there many times with our 40' motorhome and have never see them full. With a pop-up or tent you'll have your choice of any site.
