HELP! Campground between Gettysburg & Baltimore

Change of plans. Need to satisfy 3 needs.

1. Yankees- Baltimore game
2. Gettysburg day trip
3. Visit wife's family in Fawn Grove, Pa

I don't mind driving 1 hour or so in either direction. Looks like Westminster, Md area is in the middle.

Thanks.
  • Ramblin Pines while not my first place will meet your needs. It is clean and safe with hook ups.
Logistically it is the best spot for both locations.
Codorus State Park in Pa. and Cunningham Falls State Park in MD are options however they are not as centrally located to both places.
Morris Meadows to the North of the City is centrally located to both places as well
  • What team are you rooting for in this Orioles/Yankees game...?

Hmmmm...We probably should have asked that question before we offered to give him any help. LOL
  • Ramblin Pines is a decent place overall but it is imperfect in a lot of ways.
The rate is a little high. The pool is a little small, the sites are a bit close,
The place has a couple of seasonals too many. The sites are a bit unlevel and the views could be better
Nevertheless for a base camp in the area it's fine. For a quick close get away trip its fine. Just don't expect too much.

    Yankees of course.

I take back any information that I gave you (unless you have an extra ticket)
  • We live 9 miles from Ramblin Pines. We camp there every October for the trick or treating. While it is a lot of seasonals there are also a lot of weekenders and the seasonals are well maintained, mostly older people with nice equipment, and very friendly. Ramblin Pines is in the woods and not known for strong WIFI. Anywhere around here you are going to need your own wireless internet access.

If I were doing your trip I would want to be closer to Gettysburg and just make the day trip to Baltimore for the game. More interesting stuff for you to see at Gettysburg. Lots of campgrounds in Gettysburg. Let rvparkreviews.com be your friend.

If you are wanting to be closer to Baltimore then consider Patapsco Valley State Park in Ellicott City. Very close to Baltimore. Typical MD State Park camping. 1/2 the price of Rambling Pines. Very quiet, being so close to the Beltway, MIFI service should be strong.
