Help with Florida trip, please....

I am soliciting advice about places to camp in Northern/Central Florida this June. Will be camping in a tent with two boys, 10 and 12. Likely will start at Grayton Beach SP for a few days, then east to St Augustine/Jacksonville area, likely spending a few days in Anastasia SP. Looking for camping primarily at springs for swimming and family type fun to be found in the in between beaches that is inland Florida. Can anyone suggest nice parks with springs on site or nearby? We will have about 2 weeks for this trip. Plenty of time to research further on my own, but this has been a great place to start in the past. Thanks in advance

  • Check out Juniper Springs and Alexander Springs in the Ocala national Forest and Rainbow Springs State Park.
    They all have good swimming
Juniper Springs is my favorite and is like the Garden of Eden

  • If you get a chance -- head over to Ft De Soto - right on the beach west of Tampa.
  • Ditto on both Salt Springs and Blue Springs!
If you go to Salt Springs, the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing in Ocala is neat for kids.
Also if you get that far south, Rainbow Springs State Park is nice. Campground is not at springs but you can drive to springs for swimming. They also have canoe rentals and tubing.
If you have the time, From Grayton Beach, I would drop down on US19 to Manatee Springs, then to Rainbow Springs, then to Salt Springs then Blue Springs then back to Anastasia.
