Help with route from Vancouver BC to Lake Havasu

I dread driving through big cities so would like suggestions to heading south in a couple of weeks. In the past we have headed down I-5 then east from a little south of Weed Ca. onto 89 then to Susanv...

Don't even consider #3 this late in the year with an rv, the weather is too unpredictable and that road is not forgiving. U.S. 2 is a better route although it is a hard climb over Steven's pass. Unfortunately there is no easy route through the mountains.
