Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina

Has anyone stayed there and could let us know what you liked and disliked? Are there any spaces that we should avoid or any that should be on the top of our list? It will be just my wife and I plus our three Cocker Spaniels.

Also I am not at all familiar with Hilton Head. having gone to Myrtle Beach the last ten years or so. We do not want a party scene. When we stay at Myrtle we stay at Willowtree which is a very nice quiet park.
What should we plan on seeing or doing while there?

There are two options on the Island, the HH Harbor and Marina and the Motor Coach Resort the Harbor is best known for the fact that it is on the Intercoastal Waterway and has Great Sunsets, and though it's been a while they have a world class Restaurant - They allow all types of RV's if I recall - the other is a Class A only and while not at the beach is closer. IMHO they are both quiet and sort of upper crust places - That said I have never been in "Season", But have never heard any stories of issues.

We stayed there probably ten years ago. The place was very neat and clean and nice landscaping for privacy between some of the sites. When we arrived we were given a golf cart to go and pick out our own site, which they explained is the norm. Each site is privately owned and to not show any preference the owners each get an even chance of a rental. I personally did not care for Hilton Head, but again, we did not go to the beach as we were there in January.

Just curious as to what you didn't like - Other than coming there at the end of the season and it being crowded we have spent many a night there and always enjoyed it.

Great area - Quiet - nice and Neat - the Marina Restaurant has pulled us back everytime we go up or down the Coast.

Just curious as we recommended it to many and not had a complaint?

A very nice place to stay. Have been there 3 times and enjoyed each visit. When you get there, they will give you a map of available sites and you drive around in a golf cart to pick one. If you want to splurge, the waterfront sites are very nice. The only issue we had was the wifi which was not very good. Might have changed since we have been there.

There are a lot of dog friendly restaurants on the island. If you go to Skillets, they actually had a dog menu. Our dog loved it. We like going to Shelter Cove and checking out the shops, along with the boats docked up.

Harbour Town is nice to visit, cost to get to that part of the island. More shops, restaurants and really nice boats docked there. If you play golf, you will be in heaven as there are courses everywhere.

There is public parking in various spots for access to the beaches. We really like going there and have had a good time on all of our visits.

We stayed there over New Years as we had a family wedding there. Thought it was a nice place. Would stay there again. We didn't try the restaurant, but it looked nice. Didn't go to the beach because as stated, we were there for a wedding, and we're not beach people anyway. If you golf, there are tons of golf courses.

Be prepared for some insane traffic. The island is quite nice but pricey IMO. The rv park is beautiful but again, be prepared for some high end pricing. Same with greens fees. Proximity to Savannah makes a good day trip. Last we were there it cost $5 to go to Harbor Town, nice shops and good restaurants. It all depends on what you like to do.

Stayed there this last spring. Loved it. Got a spot on the inland waterway with a deck and fire ring. The interior sites were nice and offered more shade. Owners of those sites have taken special care and made enhancements resulting in a nice comfortable feel. The staff is great. We plan to return next spring as well. You will thoroughly enjoy it.

HH Harbour is a great place. Well landscaped adult oriented family atmosphere.
It is not a party central place.
You will be fine there.
More upscale than the MB parks.

The Marina is your only choice in Hilton Head with a fiver. HHIMR is class A and Cs only. Nice place, but expensive. Things in Hiton Head are hidden. You can't see the Walmart from the road, and you can just barely see the sign. If you need to find a store, it's best to use Google maps and enter the name of the store. They've taken snob zoning and sign ordinances to a new lever.

We did a day trip to Savannah. What a beautiful city!

Nice place, but it is a major, MAJOR pain in the ass to turn left across that highway to head into the island. I nearly got myself killed, and I'm not slow off the pedal either.
