Hocking Hills KOA Review

It's Sunday morning of our last day here at Hocking Hills KOA in Logan Ohio and am sad to be leaving. We've discovered this campground a few years back and have been extremely happy we did!! This is a wonderful campground to stay in. The sites are huge and the campground is meticulously kept. The owners and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Everything is kept extremely clean and well maintained. I can't say enough about this place! The few complaints some may have is something out of the owners control. The drive up into the place is steep and very bumpy but we've found out that it is a county road that the owners have asked repeatedly to fix but to no avail. The campground itself is hilly but I think it adds to the character of the place! It's really a beautiful place to stay and just down the road from some fantastic hiking. I highly recommend this place! Side note on a couple restaurants: Pizza Crossing in Logan is fantastic and highly recommended. Also if traveling down to the Lake Hope area, Mama Renie's in McArthur is also recommended for the food and friendliness of the staff! Overall a wonderful trip and highly recommended!
  • Wow, that's surprising as we did not have any trouble at all with our electric and the owner's and the staff was extremely polite and helpful. As for the firewood, we had brought our own so we didn't have any problems. This was our second stay there and both times have been great.

So you were a brave rule breaker:B. With their total ban on outside wood and all the NO this and NO that signs posted everywhere, they convinced us to buy the wood they sold.

Over all we did enjoy the stay but the attitude towards the electric was a shock(no pun intended).
  • How many sites do they have that will fit a 38' FW? I have a 36' travel trailer and was told they only have two sites I can fit on. We have tried at least a half a dozen times to reserve a space with no luck. My inlaws have a shorter FW and have no problems. I have visited them before and seen many, many open sites that we could easily fit in even though we were told no.

Maybe it is just my luck. Looks like a nice campground but maybe the State Park is more for me. Atleast I know I can reserve a site that I can fit into.

I don't think you could loose either way....but cable and full hookup is enticing!
