Holiday Travel Park Emerald Isle NC

We stay there over Memorial and Labor Day and sometimes a week in July. As far as camping at the beach with an RV there is no better beach in NC IMO. It is clean, great respectful people and a happening place. Nice pool, good restaurants nearby and nice biking trails. We really like it and always enjoy our stay. Enjoy!

We stayed there a number of years ago and loved it although you are packed in like sardines. The beach is stellar, there are amusements right there, and not far is a beautiful wildlife refuge.

Fort Macon is definitely worth a visit, and the aquarium is wonderful. Both exceeded my expectations, and I've traveled and seen a lot down the years. If you have time, go to Beaufort and check out the Maritime Museum's exhibits of things brought up from Blackbeard's ship found just offshore in recent years.

In Cape Carteret, kids will enjoy MacDaddy's big bowling alley, video arcade complex, with Golphin Dolphin Go Karts, mini golf, batting cage, driving range, etc. Location - Just across the bridge near the Lowes Food store past Walgreens. (True confession - my nephew Mac, who is a quadriplegic, built and owns it. But it is indeed a popular spot for beach-goers.)

Highly recommend eating at Rucker Johns right up the street. It's expensive, but a very nice CG. Probably the only one other than the OBX, which are crazy far for us, that I'd stay at on the NC coast.

Just back from Emerald Isle. First, I must say that the campground is kinda difficult to figure out just where to enter. No signs visible. Had to turn around & did find the office. Lady told us to "stay straight ahead". Again we had to turn around after missing a right turn that had a 2' x 3' foot very difficult to see sign.

Getting into the campground is very tight. Many hills (not expected since we are next to the beach). Seemed more like we were in the piedmont part of NC. Campground nickels and dimes on everything. $5/night for each dog. $5/night fir 50 amp service. $5 ffor bathroom keys. $2/ night cable. Internet was $16 for 3 days.

If we were to stay at July 4th it would be somewhere around $122/night. That is not going to happen.

Clean & nice campground. Did not really have the chance to get out & explore. Might go back...late September but not before. Rather stay at Jellystone in Tabor City NC.

Thanks for the update. Can't believe hey charge for every little thing extra. Their rates are already high as it is.

That's why we have only been there once and it wasn't but $90 back then.
Seems like we did find a nice waterpark near there.

Just checked and can stay in myrtle beach for less than $80/night and all that extra is included in the price.

We too had rather go to MB area. We prefer to have different things to do.
