Holly Beach, LA

Not a campground, but an interesting place to shell hunt on the coast for a day.
Any one familiar with this? What are the pros & cons. Any eateries near by?
Also thinking of staying at Intracoastal Parish Park, Sulphur, LA and using that as our base. Seems like nice enough park and most reviews I could find were decent.
Oh yeah, The first of March is the time frame.

Thanks all
  • Across the ferry is Cameron there is a campground there it’s on jetty road. It’s owned by the parish it’s a clean place all shel parking. U can fish from the pier there and your 10 min. From the beach. Hope this helps
  • Thanks for the advice. Been researching further and the area looks quite interesting. Just gotta find some good local eateries.

    thanks again
  • Should be able to find good eateries in Lake Charles. We eat at Pujo Street Café in LC occasionally. Steamboat Bills in LC is supposedly good. We also drive from Texas to eat at Café Vermillionville or Prejeans in Lafayette. Explore around the small towns near your campground.
If you do facebook maybe look at southwest Louisiana archaeology for some interesting ideas.
