How far do you post in advance?
Just wondering, is there a waiting list on campsites in areas? How far do you plan in advance? Is it all a logistical game or do you fly by the seat of your pants? How far do you plan ahead?

It depends on when and where we're going. For the winter in Florida we start making reservations for the next winter before we leave during the current winter. As mentioned, for the best site selection at state and national controlled campgrounds, advance reservations are usually advised depending on the season and popularity of the location. The desired length of the stay is also a factor in deciding if reservations are preferred, with short stays of a few days to a week often readily available, especially in private parks. Week ends and holidays are also times when advanced planning is often a must.
