If 35’ will fit, 36’ may, too, if you can tweak it a little in the site. As long as your TV doesn’t project into the road you should be OK. I’d make the decision on whether you want to chance not fitting in it rather than any “moral” issues or concern with a 35’ limit.
In decades of camping I’ve only seen one case where someone was asked to move. It was in the Tetons and they jammed in as tight as they could. But when the ranger came around the TV was projecting into the roadway a little and he asked the party to move to the commercial site down the road. Since you were told they don’t measure but you must fir the site that acknowledges that they know bigger rigs are parked there but nothing is said if they fit on the site.
