Does anyone out there know the condition or any news from the damage at Hunting Island or Edisto Island state parks? We were evacuated from Edisto and have not been able to find out anything since the hurricane. The phone at the rangers station at Hunting will not even ring.

I think they are still in flood state from the rivers still over the banks... Even I95 and I40 got closed for flooding... A big mess down that way... Google says got to Edisto Facebook page for updates...

HI is closed for the rest of the year. They just cancelled my reservations I had.

Appears all coastal state parks are closed at least until the 13th and more info will be posted the website.

Just checked and Hunting Island has sites 89-147 closed for the Winter for 'renovations". Don't know if that was due to Matthew or if it was preplanned. Do know there are some others listed as available for this coming weekend!

No one can enter Hunting Island, Fripp, Harbor or any of the sea islands outside of Beaufort yet. As soon as the all clear I will be going to Lands End to check on a friends house.Local news footage of Edisto Island looks pretty bad on the ocean side showing damaged homes.

Breaks my heart.

I don't know that Hunting Island will ever be the same. It may be good, it may be great, but it won't be the same.

Not sure about Edisto, bUT looks like major rebuild for Hunting Island.

We have reervations in May, hoping we can keep it reserved.

Looking at the aerial shots of Edisto campground it looks like Site #25 is gone. Oh well, we had reservations early in 2017.

That whole island took a hit, sad to see.

I understand that they are going to have to basically rebuild Hunting and some of Edisto. I added it to my Christmas wish list that they go back with 50 amp and sewer....!!

Local Savannah news reports Hunting Island closed the remainder of the year.

I had reservations for Hunting Island, Edisto Island, Huntington Beach beginning with 10/22 through 11/4. Huntington only cancelled half of our stay and we get to keep 10/24 and 25. The others cancelled completely. We are waiting on word from Tybee Island, GA.
