Yesterday we headed from Vancouver BC toward our destination at Lake Havasu AZ.
Curious why you would leave Vancouver Island and go to Vancouver rather than taking the ferry out of Victoria to Port Angeles. That way you do not have to drive through Seattle or Olympia.
That is a great route and have done it before as well as Sydney Anacortes. This time we went to visit relatives in Langley before heading South
Next year it will be Victoria/Port Angeles and then a slow relaxed drive down the coast highway to Redding then over to 395 (weather permitting). Yes I know, the coast can be rainy and foggy but we will give it a shot anyway.
Sort of figured you were leaving from Vancouver for some type of reason.
We leave Victoria and drive to RV park outside of Vancouver, WA. We then leave about 4:30 in the morning to drive through Portland and stop at Dunnigan,CA for the night. Get up early again to drive through Sacramento and Stockton.
By doing this we avoid the traffic in those three cities. We're leaving on Monday going this way to Quartzsite.
