I guess there will always be that awkward moment where you take off your boots, you are in your socks, and you have to hop up the wet steps into the RV to put on the dry "inside" shoes. What we need is a "mud room," an architectural feature that we once saw in a farmhouse in Oregon.
Get a plastic storage bin with a top that snaps on. If you get one short enough, you can slide it underneath the camper. Otherwise, just leave it next to the steps.
