Ideas for rv parks/resorts for Texas in the winter

Thanks everyone to positng rv park ideas here. I am thinking about relocation to the fredericksburg,tx area and the wife, puppies and myself will "testdrive" texas for a month in april...seems rv parks are j$400 plus electric or just under 600 inclusive all ..for a month...
We have never done any long term stay in a rv park....any tips on what to look out for would be appreciated

I stand corrected on this: Lake Texana SP is no longer a SP. It is all part of Brackenridge now. Too bad. My park pass is not welcome there any more and they jacked up the fee so I'll be stopping elsewhere for now on.

Choke Canyon State Park, Brazos Bend State Park, and Dellanara RV Park in Galveston. The two state parks offer wildlife and at Galveston there's a lot for families to do.

The farther south you go, the warmer you will be.

Other than what is already mentioned, if the San Marcos outlet malls are your thing there are RV parks in Fentress Martindale and Wimberley. Gruene and New Braunfels is a short drive as well. There is Huaco Springs in NB but a bit pricy.

Within 150 miles heading south there is Potters Creek on Canyon Lake, Guadalupe PS north of SA, Huntsville SP.

Just out of that range is the KOA on Lake Livingston in Onalaska, Palmetto SP just south of Luling.

Someone mentioned Edna, we prefer Lake Texana across the street from Breckenridge but that is just our preference. Not much else out there though.

If you come to Galveston try Delanera RV park

I'd look at the Jellystone near Fredricksberg. It also has a very good winery. Odd combination, but it works, and it is pretty decent. Plus, you can head west to Fredricksberg or east to Austin or other places.

Brackenridge Recreation Complex in Edna, TX gets great reviews.

Try South Llano SP out near Junction TX; might be a little far for you to go, but it's an interesting place. Wild turkeys, deer, exotic antelope, and other game frequent the area. The CG has nice paved sites for your RV.

Where would depend heavily on the weather forecast. As you well know during that period in Texas it may be cold and rainy or icy, or it may be sunny and 75-80 degrees wearing shorts and T shirts. That would make difference on whether to head north, east, south, or west.
Lots of different type areas with regular private RV parks and/or state/COE type parks that would be good with outdoor activities if the weather were favorable.
We like to go to Kerrville Schreiner Park in Kerrville to get away from a typical side by side RV park. Formerly a state park now run by the city. Large (over 500 acres) with relatively few RV sites leaves lots of room for nature. Hiking and biking on paved roads and also maintained off road hiking/biking trails. Deer routinely come grazing thru your RV site. Split by the highway, the river side is along side the Guadalupe River where you can fish/swim/sit beside the river. We prefer the hill side which is the much larger part where the hiking/biking trails are located. But best enjoyed during nice weather.
And Kerrville is a nice city to visit if you have not been there. Close to other interesting hill country towns such as Fredericksburg, Comfort, Boerne, etc.
