In search of a nice camp groundor state park.
Planning a week vacation to Texas on the first week of August. Any good campgrounds or state parks near the north east Texas border? Thank you to all in advance..:)

I have to admit that we are enjoying the cool days and nights in Colorado, but we will be returning next week to North East Texas.
Tyler State Park is one of our favorites, but reservations would be required even in the Summer heat. We live only 20 miles from Dainderfield State Park so we have never stayed there, but it would be another good choice. There is also Bob Sandlin State Park near Pittsburg and Mount Pleasant. Finally there is Caddo Lake State Park near Jefferson, a truly unique geographical setting.
There are two excellent COE parks on Lake 'o The Pines, between Jefferson and our home town of Ore City: Brushy Creek and Buckhorn.
