We live in western NV and have RV'd all over the west for 50 years. What you have laid out is an 18 wheeler trip! The roads in most of the western US are great and you can cover lots of territory in a day and not see anything but white lines. Shave the trip do about 300 miles a day, get on the road early in the morning (you will better manage the heat) try to stop by 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Drive less see more! Enjoy
