Going down in the next 6 weeks, where is a nice campground. (ocean front is a ++) Last trip ended up at Hanna park and said never again. Have been told to go down to St Augustine, but again where? 40ft Fifth wheel with 4 slides, 1 ton full size truck, I'm 65 ft long. two dogs, Need F/H w/50amp. Need local eyes!!

Never been here, but perhaps some can comment on this place - Brynmar Ocean ResortI have heard about it from a few folks, but never stayed there yet.

North Beach Camp Resort, great location across the street from the beach.bit pricey,great places to dine out. check out there web site

Bryn Mawr is on the ocean and in town. You can catch a trolley at the entrance. Older ownership park with tight spots but on the ocean. Ocean Grove is good on the Intracoastal. We often stay at Stage Coach. Nothing special but clean and less expensive. Anastasia State Park is great but hard to get a reservation. We are

We stop at Stagecoach RV Park every year and have never been disappointed. All pull thru lots and close to I95.

We just got back from St. Augustine. Stayed at North Beach RV Camp. It was our first time and we liked it. Very well maintained. The roads and sites are packed sand since it is in a beach area, but they are well packed. A mix of pull thru and back in sites available. Big rig friendly. Bathrooms are dated and can be a walk, but we don't use those facilities so it was not a problem for us.The park is located between the river and the ocean. The River sites have a beautiful view and are close to Aunt Katie's which is a nice little restaurant that the park owns. The park is not right on the ocean, but the ocean is right across the street, AIA. You can hear the ocean at night from a lot of the sites. Nice beach - dog friendly with another restaurant, The Reef also owned by the park on that side. A little more dressy although more dated than Aunt Katie's. It is not a bad drive into the historic district. Parking and traffic can be challenging in St. Augustine. We parked at the Trolley near Fountain of Youth and paid for the on & off trolley as a way to get around the city and hear a little about the city. Pass is good for two days. We drive a Ram 3500 Crewcab longbed dually pulling a 38 ft. 5th wheel. We drove down to check out Anastasia and I found that we are too big to fit comfortably in any of their sites. We would recommend North Beach RV Camp.

If you don't mind staying at exit 1 in Ga , nice campground right off the exit called Country Oaks...close to everything...20 minute ride to jacksonville and 1 hour to St Augustine...Chuck

We have stayed several times at Pelican Roost RV Park at NAS Mayport. If you have base access I think you would like it.

I'm the OP, this is to reactivate last years post, for current info.
Went with North Beach last trip, were very happy. It's been a year, a few bad storms and general time passing. Is this still "the" place or has someone stepped up? (no access to military)

What was wrong with Hannah? We stayed there in 2016 and quite enjoyed ourselves. 42' fifth wheel w/ 4 slides and crew cab/long bed dually = 60' bumper to bumper.

I'd say so - we go there for a week every summer. They were closed after the recent storm for a few weeks, but are back up and running. Not sure if you knew, but they have a Good Sam discount. No CG in the area that I know of can compete with the size of site you get - especially the pull throughs. Only down side I can come up with is they don't supervise the pool - and non campers have easy access.

Was the camp store open? My last stay there was 3 years ago in August. Had to go outside of CG to buy ice. Yes - they upgraded the service poles, but we couldn't run the microwave and AC at the same time without tripping a breaker. It's an OK CG - North Beach is loads better though.

Leaning to return to North Beach, but am open to anything within an hour of Jacksonville. Also, is there an RV dealer in the area that I should stay away from or make sure I visit? We are thinking about trading in the 5'ver for a Motorhome.

How about Fort Clinch St. Park at Fernandina Beach, north of Jax, or Gamble Rodgers State Park, Flagler Beach South of St. Augustine, Anastasia State Park St. Augustine or Little Talbot Island St. Park just north of Jax on A1A
