Journey of a Life Time

Hello everybody, I haven't been on the forum for awhile. Have been trying to fight off murphy's law for the past few months. Weather mostly, rain, snow, 60 mph winds, tree limbs + branches, ECT! Was able to keep my Class C from getting damaged by the foul weather.

My plan is to roam from rv park to rv park on a monthly basis. Spend a month at one rv park and go 200 miles or so, to another rv park. The weather has held me back several monthes on finishing my renovation on my RV. So it may be mid summer before I get started on my journey. I want to head south, then to the west, to NM., AZ, BLM area. Just can't find anything in the South that is simular to BLM out west. Low cost or free is all I'll be able to afford after this reno of my rv.

If anyone on this forum knows of a few places like I described above, please let me know of them if you would. I looked at the Good Sam's Club, lots of good stuff there, but I am not into resorts style living. I am not into crowds of people, a few at a time is fine with me, and only good folks. I might just be living a pipe-dream, but having fun getting ready for it.
  • In Florida, there's actually quite a bit of boondocking at water management lands.

I agree with the recommendation for checking out freecampsites.net.

Campendium also has an option for filtering by price. I've found good boondocking options through it.

Boondockers Welcome and Harvest Hosts won't let you stay as long, but can be good fill-ins on travel days or between free campsite stays.
  • look at COE (CORPS OF ENGINEERS) especially in the south.. Many of them are FHU on rivers and very nice. Rates usually in the teens or half off with Seniors lifetime pass.
  • Look at freecampsites.net which has free sites, some of which are blm land in N Mex and AZ. You might consider buying an annual pass for the state parks in N Mex $ 225 non-resident for a year. You can then boondock at the parks for free or water $4 night or $8 night for water/electric site. You would then also have use to their dumpstations, maybe laundry, some wifi etc.
