Amen, brother, amen.
22 years ago (how can it possibly be that long ago) my bride and I bought 27 acres on "the wrong side of town" but outside the city limits a mile and a half. While the city was expanding, IT WENT THE OTHER WAY, so we live 5 miles from the city center, but have no neighbors. Our land is bordered on one side by land the state bought for a road, and on the other sides by 1500 acres that have been essentially abandoned since the 1970s. We got the best of both worlds. We can run laps around the house stark naked, screaming at the top of our lungs, and never disturb a soul.
When we travel, we love to go camping, and we prefer lots of room, site to site, or even boon docking. And even though it is snowing right now, yer makin' me jealous, @2oldman.
