Joy of off-grid

Just spent 10 days in the city. Today, I'm boondocking. The nearest services are 17 miles away.

I'm pretty sure I've had enough of garbage trucks, diesel pushers, sirens, dogs, helicopters, constant traffic, chain saws, leaf blowers, lawnmowers, and my neighbors being close enough I can see what TV program they're watching.

Not that a city doesn't have its advantages, but, it's sure nice to be able to take a break from it. Now, all I hear is my fantastic fan, an occasional bird squawk, and the ringing in my own ears.

For anyone considering outfitting your RV with the capabilities to be 'off the grid', do not worry. That stuff just costs money. The freedom is priceless.

And gives me time to think...... and be wrong without anybody finding out.
  • my home town has no police, buses, grocery stores or shopping malls. I can't see my neighbors and the road turns dirt when pass our house so not much traffic goes buy. When we go out to eat the closest restaurant is about 12 miles away. When we go off with the TT we don't mind being near the city from time to time.
