Kentucky Speedway Infield Camping

Looking for anybody who has camped in the infield of Kentucky Speedway during a NASCAR race. We're planning on attending a race weekend there next year and would like to hear comments on the experience. Thanks

  • Thanks. We have about 10 years experience camping on the infield and trackside outfield at both Pocono and Fontana, CA so we're pretty familiar with how to do it. Just looking for some actual experience for this specific track other than what the speedway posts on their website. Appreciate the help!
  • At least the state has added another exit off of I-71 for the speedway. When they first held a NASCAR race there, many of the fans spent the entire race in a massive traffic jam on I-71. I got caught in it one year and I was just passing thru. Slowly, as it turned out.
I haven't attended, so I don't know about infield camping.
  • I have not camped in the infield at Kentucky Speedway, but have over 20 years experience camping in the infield at Michigan International Speedway. It's fun, interesting, and a great place to watch the race.

Below is a Kentucky Speedway sponsored Youtube video about camping in the infield there.

Here's another video which sort of explains some of the problems of infield camping. That is if you don't have a vantage point from which to watch the race (on top of your camper).

Or try doing a Youtube search for other videos. Good luck!
