Muddy, I think that our collective distress is not just about a couple of trees -- it is about the growing lawlessness and rudeness that we see in the national forests and parks. Trash everywhere. A very few folks on ATVs carving up the landscape, ruining things for the law-abiding ATVers. Ugly soil and tree damage. Yes, it tends to be younger people -- they have more energy than I do! I have my hands full just hauling water to my trailer, and with other tedious housekeeping chores. I don't have time to engage in much vandalism. ;)
