What they are going to do is raise your dues, and then pressure you to upgrade your membership.
This is exactly what my resort tried to do with me. I refused to let them come to my house, but agreed to meet at the resort and got the same dog and pony show that I got when I joined.
Sounds terrible, but it is nothing more than a sales gimmick.
