- stickdogExplorerSo, it's their business they can do as they please.
- K_CharlesExplorerIf you search "KOA monthly rates" in Bing you get almost a million hits. They have monthly rates.
- JoeGood988ExplorerIf they can get $40 a night or $600 a month...I know I wouldn't do monthly if I didn't have to (40 x 30 = 1200)
- tandkjExplorerWe worked at a KOA and they liked monthly campers. A site used by a monthly is better than an empty site.
- joe_b_Explorer IISince most KOAs appear to be privately owned, suspect it is up to each owner. Now some I have stayed at don't have a monthly rate, they are happy for a person to stay a month or more, such as Ouray Colorado. The KOA just north in Montrose Colorado is heavily into longer term stays and has a separate part of the CG set up for them, including on site propane that is metered. Several we have stayed at have separate areas for short term and long term, some even have separate roads out of the park for those long term campers as many get up to go to work daily and leave early.
Just by the locations of many/most KOAs I would suspect that short term, such as overnight, stays was in the planning of the franchise. Not too many are what I would call destination campgrounds, where some are, such as Mount Rushmore KOA, Ouray KOA, etc. - newman_fulltimeExplorer IIthey make up the diff with the electric bill

Hey,
Someone once told me that KOA is not a big fan of monthly campers, that they prefer overnight stays and do not like monthly campers to have any real stuff outside like chairs etc
And? Was there a question or was this just a general statement? - PawPaw_n_GramExplorerI would guess the individual KOA would make a decision about monthly rates or not based upon their demand. Like many state parks or COE parks - no more than 2 weeks in season, and monthly rates in the off season.
Kind of like the racetrack owner I used to work for said often
"The most expensive thing in this place is an empty seat" or campsite.
